Good Weather, Hard Work

I have been loving the good weather!! It's been great to be getting things done!!
Officially, I have gotten started in BEES!!
I started working on building my hives using THIS idea on Sunday. I didn't get finished until Tuesday, and on Tuesday night, I went and got some bees a beekeeping friend of mine knew about. Still working on getting them into MY hive...
Honey Cows
BUT
I HAVE BEES!!
(well. As long as they decide to stay. lol)
I have to say. I like my roof WAY better. I worked HARD on that thing.

The GARDEN is coming along...
Nearly one month ago:

TODAY

Also added to the goat pen, and when I did, with a little rearranging of the way things were, I more than doubled their area!!

It feels good to get out and work in the sun... I just wish there was a way to do that in the house. Wonder what the landlord would say about us putting in a sunroof...? lol

Around the Farm

UUUUUGGGGH!! I am still having trouble really telling if Ginger is pregnant. She's not showing signs of eminant pregnancy, but I've also read from one breeder on line that she had heard (and so looked back on her records) that births happen close to full moons a lot. Which would mean Ginger will be late. The full moon in June this year is also a total lunar eclipse... and it's due on the 15th. A week late for Ginger to kid. We'll see.
In the mean time, the turkeys are getting big!

And so are the chicks. Their little mommas are so protective of them!! Bossing the bigger girls around when they get too close to their babies... although the comfort area is getting closer and closer now... which is really cool to watch. They share eating time really well. Both sides do.

Still planning like we'll be having kids this month... so we shaved Ginger's rear today. (sorry. No photos of that. lol) I also trimmed Harriett's hooves. They needed it pretty badly. Ginger and Harriett are allowing Lucy to be near them more. She's crying for her mommy a lot less.

Today on the tire.

Got shots of her from both sides today, and got the baby monitor set up in the barn for D day...

I love her white "leg warmer" look.

My only other question is WHERE THE CRAP IS SUMMER?!? It's JUNE now. Today it rained between sunny spots.
