Seven Hundred and Fifty MINUS one.

This is what a Seven Hundred and Fifty piece puzzle looks like with ONE missing piece. Ask me how much fun it is to get ALL THE WAY TO THE END and figure THAT out on a brand stinking new puzzle.
Brand.
Stinking.
NEW.
At least we had fun doing it!! lol

We got to spend the Christmas Holidays with my little sister and her boyfriend! I usually forget to take a photo.
Not this year.

It was really nice to spend Christmas morning in our house like we used to before we moved to the coast...
Even in our tiny house, where I didn't end up having time to decorate the tree.

Love this shot of our stockings hung with care...

Before Santa...

After Santa...

And totally not related...
What the chickens do when I am outside for any amount of time... lol

Christmas Moodmeme

My friend Jenny posted this, and I liked it, so I'm doing it!!
Melty Mallows
1. Getting kissed under the mistletoe or in the snow? Snow. It's way more romantic. Mistletoe is out of obligation.

2. Santa or Rudolph? I'm a sucker for animals... I bet Rudolph smells like hay and marshmallows.

3. Stockings or presents? Presents.

4. Eggnog or hot cider? Seeing as the only reason egg nog ever makes into the house is because TRAVIS likes it, I say hot cider. Reminds me of my gramma.

5. Angel or star? This year it's a star. Most of the time it's a blown glass topper. Neither shape.

6. Decorating the tree or putting lights outside? We do both, but this year I sucked at the tree part, and the outside lights keep tripping the breaker. lol

7. Warm fires or sleigh rides? Warm Fire. We collect them.

8. Expensive presents or presents that come from the heart? I like presents that come from the heart.

9. Snowball fight or snowman? Snowman. I need to find a good top hat.

10. Will you be getting coal or presents? I plead the 5th.

11. Giving or receiving? Giving. I like it more than syrup.

12. Opening presents quick or slow? I like it when we take our time and everyone watches what everyone else gets. Helps take out the greed in the gifts I think.

13. Caroling or Christmas stories? I've only been caroling once. It was awesome.

14. Snowy days or icy days? Snowy.

15. Green or red? Red.

16. The Nightmare Before Christmas or The Santa Clause? Elf.

17. Dasher or Dancer? Eh...?

18. Prancer or Vixen? I have to say I like Vixen.

19. Comet or Cupid? Cupid.

20. Donner or Blitzen? Blitzen. Only because it sounds a little boozy.

21. Fake tree or real? I vote fake. They have been a staple in our house ever since our first last live tree debacle.

22. Prime rib or ham? Ham.

23. Red and white candy canes or colorful candy canes? Red and white. Everything else doesn't count.

24. Get up early or sleep in late? Early. Travis and I actually have to wake the BOYS up!! lol

25. Old Christmas movies or new ones? I think mostly I like NEW... We like The Grinch, Elf and Olive, the Other Reindeer.

26. The Santa Clause or Santa Clause 2? First is usually always better, but I have to say we have loved all the Clause movies.

27. The Grinch or Elf? Yes.

28. Scrooge or Tiny Tim? Well that depends! Are we talking start of story scrooge or end of story scrooge? lol I like end of story scrooge.

29. Ornaments or a wreath? ... ??
Christmas Bokeh
30. Christmas Eve or Christmas Day? Yes. Since we celebrate with different families on each day. I love our traditions with BOTH of them.
Our family's Oral History

Thanks, Jenny!! Anyone that wants to can play along!! Can't wait to see what you have to say!! Let me know you played and link me up!

Morning, Sunshine...

Bits of my morning as we woke up and stretched our legs today on the farm...
Sunshine through the trees...

My "farmer" apparel... pink PJ's and my new green Sloggers!

The chickens getting let out of their hen house.

Chronic sharing water with the girls... I just love his beautiful saddle feathers and the green shimmer in his tail.

What Oregon does to the trees...

On the way to the goat barn...

The goats are always giddy to get up the hill out of the back of the barn.

Always a first stop for Ginger.

Catching Harriet before she sticks her nose up my camera lens.

Just after this shot, Harriet decided to show off with a "butt" toward the cat... lol silly goat.

Things that Happen

So when I haven't been posting for a while, it's usually because things were happening in my in PERSON life...
like
Thanksgiving with my classy hubs.

TURNING 35!!!
Live Statues on my birthday weekend

This weekend I got to make some on line friends real life friends.
Tara, The Organic Sister

Our kids hit it off pretty well.

Tara, they enjoyed this movie together... lol Funny thing is, we LOVE this guy... but Z showed it to them not knowing that!! lol

Tara and her hubby Justin

Some time ago, I mentioned on twitter that I had a dream that Tara had come to visit, and she left because I wasn't organic enough for her. (silly, and she laughed with me about it, but still.) So I had told Travis about that dream when Tara mentioned she would like to stop by when she and her family were on their way up to Eugene, OR to convert their diesel truck to a vegi oil powered truck. While I was getting ready, I took a shower and wrapped up in my towel after. Travis caught me in my towel, cleaning up the bathroom sink, and asked if that was what I planned to greet Tara and her family in... lol I laughed and said YES! I was going to greet them in my birthday suit and ask "Is THIS organic enough for you!?" lol Needless to say, I spared the family THAT... but it was a good laugh.
I wish I had my BIG camera...

Thank you, Tara, for stopping and staying with us!! I'm so glad to say I have met you in person, and I look forward to seeing you guys again!! The boys are still talking about the fun they had with Z!!
More this weekend...
After our whirl wind sleepover with Tara and her family, we headed to church and Josh lit the Christmas Advent candle!! I got to do this when I was a kid, so it was really cool to see him up there!! He loved it.

And then we caught my mom's cat BOB catnapping in my mom's studio!!
