And remember how I like to collect things just because I like them?
And remember how I like to collect things even if I don't have a CLUE what I'm going to do with them?
Well a while back, I blogged about Someone Else's Mattress.
And I took this cool photo of the springs in it.
And now I'm moving... and it's six months later...
And the box spring was STILL in one piece...
And hubs wanted to know if I was ready to admit that he should take the SOGGY WET RUSTY box spring to the dump.
OF COURSE I said NO. I was NOT ready for that, and that we needed to take it apart and save the springs!!
And now I have this AWESOME collection of Box Springs. Yummy rusty box springs. Hubs helped me take it all apart...
Because he loves me THAT much...At least I didn't MOVE the wet rusty box spring so I could take it apart.
A box full of box springs is WAY lighter and takes up WAY less space.
AND my etsy shop will have some cool rusty springs in it later this year.

I was wondering what had happened with that box spring! YAY!
I have the same desire to save these rusty old things so well done you! I have one rusty spring I found on the river shore years ago and it is one of my favourite pieces of rusty metal-it is beautiful on its own and can also display something round in its top!
I was popping in to say I loved your circus dolls in ADQ-beautiful!
I love reading this...it makes me feel good to know I'm not the only one who "collects" things that I have no idea what I'm going to do with; I just know I NEED to keep 'em. Springs...rusty and metal and oh so yummy! Love it!

Ha! I love you! Your Hubby is a pretty understanding dude...a definite keeper (no collecting Hubbies though!;)
Your hubby is a gem! I also have the same obsessive collection tendencies. I am so proud of you, taking time to take the mattress springs all a part! I would have been too overwhelmed with it--during a move. Congratulations! You win the prize for determination.
Such yummy, rusty goodness! I hope you don't decide to sell ALL of them...I'd LOVE to see the beautiful art you could create!
I'm thinking they were worth saving just for the wonderful artsy photo you took of them!!! That first one could be enlarged and framed!
oooOOOHHHH...the possibilities! Hanging from this and that to be clip-it ups, a single one to fit in the mouth of a vase{the vase just has to be filled with goodies though}. I wonder if one or more of them could become stamps? I'm certain you could get an awesome paint splatter going... happy happies.
