I'm planning a trip there... at least for a while.
As long as I can stand it.
I used to have really long hair. Really awesome pretty and long hair.
Thing is, I'm not really great at keeping a hairstyle for very long. In fact, the hair style I have is probably the longest I've spent in one hairstyleville.
Another thing I don't think a lot of GUYS get, is that girls say a lot with their hair.
We make statements about how we are with our hair.
My husband really likes my long hair.
My short hair, he puts up with because it's attached to me.
I like my short hair. It says what I want it to about me. I feel like it matches my personality.
I also like my long sexy hair. In fact, I love it.
What I don't like, is the in between stage. There aren't a lot of awesome choices when it comes to growing out your hair.
There's the just-let-it-go-and-in-a-year-or-so-we'll-try-to-do-something-with-it cut.
There's the trim-it-as-you-go-and-try-to-keep-it-cute-for-three-years choice too.
I usually choose the second choice.
What I usually have trouble with, is keeping the funky style in between... it's HARD.
What I'm really worried about, is looking like Kate Gosslin at any stage of the process. I really REALLY don't want that.
So.
Today was the first of many trims to keep things looking cute while I grow out my hair.
In chicken news:
This is what greets me these days when I go out to the back porch:
I don't know if you can tell how big they are getting!! I think they're just about full sized hens now. Just a little more growing!!
Still waiting for eggs...
I've made some adjustments to the "roof" that I thought I should share... and as you can see, we've moved the girls to the back deck. It's going to be easier for feeding and checking on them in the windy rainy weather. We moved them when we had high wind warnings this last weekend. I put a tarp under their run so I can change it and keep their run clean.
™
I cannot tell you how many times I've cut my hair, grown it out then cut it again. Growing out is always a nightmare.
ReplyDeleteThe chickens look great! I can't wait to see some eggs.
Oh....I so know what you mean about short hair....I love it...hate it....love it and on and on. The hubby likes long hair....of course. But truly, I am a short hair kinda gal...tomboyish and freestyling...PLUS...it keeps down that natural curl that goes haywire in this west coast mist we have most of the year. I think when I retire, and live in my shanty by the ocean...I'll grow my hair then...and let it curl up and blow in the wind like some mad crazy woman...and I'll revel in it! Until then, short cropped hair works better under a hardhat for me!
ReplyDeleteI totally get what you're saying with the hair! Mine seems to take forever to grow out! I finally can get it into a ponytail again, but I still want it a bit longer. My short hair was a fun style. In fact, I LOVED it! But it was work. I had to blow dry and put product in it every day. I'm much more of a wash, comb, and go kind of girl.
ReplyDeleteLove seeing pics of the chickens. Can't wait to hear when they start laying for you.
I love your hair any ole way!!! YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL! I
ReplyDeleteHi Rachael
ReplyDeleteI'm in that no man's land between long and short at this very moment.
I think that I need a funky modern hair cut, my husband... bless his cotton sox, STILL thinks I'm fourteen with long blonde hair flowing down my shoulders, you'd think after thirty eight years of being together he'd have looked at me and realised that I'd grown a little older and my hair is more white than blonde, which doesn't have quite the same look, it hangs more than flows these days
I hasten to add, married for only 32 of those 38 years, and yes, I was still a baby when we married.
Yep. Growing out your hair is totally rubbish. I have always been one to change my hair as it helps me express how I'm feeling. I've gone from long to short over night and shocked friends, and then had to endure the trial that is growing it out. I grew my hair long again five years ago, and can't bring myself to cut it short! It's all about changing the colour now! :)
ReplyDeletethe thing about hair is when it's short we want it long and when it's long we want it short.. it's hard to find one style that fits one's changing personality everyday! definitely avoid the kate gosselin!
ReplyDeleteargh - yup i know what you mean about hair!! lol!!! mine is just above my shoulders but is taking so long to grow and i really want a frinnge - i hope yours grows out soon. loving the chickens, hope they give you some eggs soon xxx
ReplyDeleteHow's that hair going?! How's it going? I looked for a tweet following the stylist, but I couldn't find it. You're not still at the stylist's are you?
ReplyDeleteLOVE THE CHICKS, BABY!!
