Thanks, Mom.

It's one of those afternoons, when I get on the computer, and get an email... and one thing leads to another, and I end up totally sidetracked, and it's been totally worth it.
My MOM started the chain of events today, when she sent me an email with a link in it.
Her link was to the website of Patience Salgado. In that link, as the idea of Guerilla Goodness. It's an idea I know... It's an idea I LOVE. You may remember one of my favorites...

and Patience is doing something for kids as they return to school... and even though our little boys are staying home with me this year, I think we'll be doing something like this that night... if you live near me (you know who you are if you do) contact me. We can do this together... Thanks, Mom... it was a good day getting sidetracked!!

what a great and fabulously sweet idea!

and how wonderful that you're keeping your boys home. i wanted to home school my wee one but my husband says no way (not that it's more than 50% his choice) -- kiddos need other kiddos and socialization he says. finn had enough of me over the summer anyway, i suppose so now he can make new friends and have mucho fun. :( i will probably cry.

Cool blog, Rachel! I, too, am a thrift junkie, worm farmer, and many other things on your list. After teaching and taking some grad classes in school psychology and child development, I am a firm believer in homeschooling too. Kids do need socialization, but there are sometimes healthier ways to get it. But every family has their own needs and opportunities and every kid is different...

Anyway, glad I found you on Blog of Note! Congrats, and I'll be one of your new followers. :)

So, I aboslutely love that you mentioned Free Hugs. I love that, but my favorite organization or good-doer campaign out there for me has to be To Write Love on Her Arms. (http://twloha.com) I'm sure you have heard of it.

I am actually quite passionate about their work.

Anyway, I like your blog, keep posting. :)

What an interesting, refreshing format you've created. I love the fonts and the pale olive (is it?) works well! Bravo!

haha I just saw your post on my page. I think I might have to re-think my estimation on that, 30-35 is a bit of a stretch, I think your a little more accurate with the 45-50. but thanks again, I'm excited that I have my first follower.

Hello... thank you kidnessgirl and miss Rachel. I just wanted to say that true giving is rare and like you say is giving without any expectation of return.

Please visit this website dreamer.me for a way to give without spending any money or time!

Thanks for dropping in. You can't imagine...The skunks have reproduced and are procreating. It is tight under our home with two trap doors and two small drain holes off the carport. The little stinkin'mama dug under one of the trap doors to start a family back in June. We can't just seal the hole up until we know all skunks have left the building. LOL! Have a great evening and in the words of Granny Clampett,"Ya'll come back now, ya hear!!!"
