Year before last, this cool funky lady with a CRAZY sense of humor landed on Tally. She was in the east coast time zone, and I was over here in the west coast zone, and yet, we usually landed in the chat room together. We talked together at least a few times a week there in the chat room. It was in the chat room that I started calling her Coffee. Eventually, we got to meet face to face, at a "TallyRally" where a bunch of us from the site got together for a scrappy weekend in the Dells, WI. Coffee and I became the fastest of fast friends. Fast forward to the start of our daily phone conversations... where her caller ID would simply state OREGON caller... She started calling me Oregon.
Zipping forward again, to the day that Coffee created her FIRST cloth and clay doll, and sent it to me. Eventually, I took the class too, but I was too greedy to send her my FIRST doll... lol SO I started thinking about what I wanted to make her SPECIAL for her. I decided that I wanted to make a doll in a coffee mug. SO I bought a mug, and got to creating. But in the middle of her creation, I found a VINTAGE mug with the word OREGON on it!! It was BEYOND perfect. I only paid a few dollars for the set, but I would have paid a lot. shhhhhh.... lol The mug came as a set with a plate I didn't REALLY want... but I bought it anyway. When I got home, I thought about it more. How cute would she be with the saucer? I tried it. She was CUTE, and the saucer reminded me of a skirt... what about putting DOILIES under the saucer too!?!? so she evolved... into what she is now!
I mixed instant coffee into elmer's glue to create the coffee in her mug...
I kept the saucer seperatable from the mug.
Here's a photo of she and the doll that coffee made for me. :)
