Pee Ess

Seems the same rules that apply to the sink apply to the trash.
I think the drippy Popsicle stick is a nice feature.

HELLLOOOO!?!?

First of all.
Am I the ONLY person who can see that there is NO ROOM for more dishes in the sink?
I mean really. They are DISHES.
They are NOT pick up sticks.
I do need the FAUCET you've all so skillfully burried to WASH the stinking things.

Second of all.
I did the Effing dishes YESTERDAY.
Coffee claims that her sink is worse.
I have yet to see those pictures.

Just because it's made from CORN...

Doesn't mean you need to EAT it...
I've been really annoyed lately, at those new commercials for the Corn Refiners Association, makers of the wonderfully empty food product we all know as HFCS or High Fructose Corn Syrup.
High Fructose Corn Syrup's newest ally, is the commercials where "conservative close minded idiots who believe everything they hear" are shocked when a friend or loved one serves and consumes something containing HFCS. Then, the "liberally sound of mind" person in the commercial gently in a very "oh, you silly stupid person, let me explain to you in stupid man terms why you are so stupid" way lets their overly concerned friend know that HFCS is "natural" and that it's made from corn, and that's it's fine in moderation, just like sugar.
What I don't understand, is WHY america is so willing to buy this CRAP. You might like to know a little bit about what SUGAR actually does to your body. Aside from the dangers of over consuming it, (like diabetes, and things like that) what it does, or rather DOESN'T do in your stomach is what makes SUGAR less than ideal to be consuming large amounts of. When you eat food, there is a chemical reaction caused by the digestion of food, that causes your brain to register that you have eaten. Some foods cause this reaction for longer. Protien and Fiber are two that trigger this mental acknowlegment of fullness the best. Sugar causes the weakest form of chemical trigger to your brain. High Fructose Corn Syrup, doesn't cause it at all. So in other words, when you eat a cookie that was made from scratch at home, and you put REAL SUGAR in it, you brain might not get a good signal that you ate something, but it gets a signal. When you eat a cookie from the store that was made with HFCS, your brain doesn't get the registration that you had much to eat at all. In the natural progression of things, one could safely assume that this MIGHT cause you to eat MORE cookies, and no one is arguing that that might not be good for you.
So I offer you this:

A cup from my local coffee shop. Says right on the cup that it's made from corn. In this case, made from corn being a plus because it makes the cup eco friendly, and easily degraded in a landfill. Using the logic of the HFCS comercial, I should be fine to go ahead and eat the sucker....

but I think I'll pass.

Day 3

AWESOME... Just have to say. I love Verizon. I don't know what I ever did without them. The girl who signed us up, is AMAZING. :) She has done everything she can to make the money we spent to leave AT&T worth it. Today was no exception. So I made my self portrait today about my Verizon LOVE...

She's the BEST. She makes me smile, and smiling 's my FAVORITE. :)

Vintage Storage continued

YES!! Finally!! I'm done re organizing my creative space!!
Would you like a TOUR?!?!
Good.
:)
It all started when I went to visit my mom...
So naturally, I totally blame her. :)
I got a glimps of her "where women create" book and knew I needed to up my ante...
So naturally, I went to the thrift store.
Where I found a BEAUTIUL teacher's desk. Perfect for the upgrading I wanted to do.
Here's the original area.
My NEW designated TABLE!! by you.
Here is the overall view of the NEW area... as you can see, I've packed my creative space into my dining room.

Starting from the left of this view, the book shelf that I turned on it's side, so I could keep the square spots for my metal locker baskets.

Here are the jars on the top of that shelf...

A top view of my main desk area...

My clip it up area is between this.

and Just below all that... my desk top area.

Moving to the right of the main shelf on the desk top...

And my MASSIVE collection of playing cards I've put in those metal drawers... I've realized that I have to stop liking things, because when I like something, I end up collecting it.

Last but not least, the far right area!! Those books are all collected for altering... The little golden ones are on the right. My mini albums are in that top basket at the top right.

Organizing With Vintage Storage

I've recently come into three neat old jewelry boxes, and am moving my embellishments and altered art goodies into them... so I thought I would share!!
Here is the set of them...

This one is probably one of my favoritest. It holds my vintage jewelry and pearls! I found it, and the other one like it, at a yard sale for $2 each!

I got this one at the thrift store for $3...

Not a bad haul for $7... right?!

More photos of my new storage and Creative Space later!!

New New New

Nothing like a new hair cut to get a person in the mood to take photos... and when you have a sidekick as AWESOME as I do... well, it's just the best.

Feeling very productive today... I've gotten a few things taken care of on line, and all SORTS of little THINGS done today at home. I love feeling like I've managed to more than just breathe during the course of the day...
I got the cat boxes cleaned (and they REALLY needed it)
I got the dishwasher loaded and started
I got the old scrap table out of the kitchen, and most of the things for that area put away (I should be able to get most of that done later today...)
I gave myself a haircut! My hair's so DARK it's really hard to see any detail in photos... this is my best shot!! lol

I showered AND got dressed like I have somewhere to go today.
All in all, a pretty nice day, and to top it all off, my hubby is off today, so we get to have a nice evening together just BEING.
This adorable little boy told me the other night while we were snuggling in bed...
"Mom, you smell CREAMY... You smell WHIP creamy..." Made me happy in my squishy heart or hearts... All that Cocoa Butter Lotion paid off!! :)

My very favorite of the bunch...

Have a happy November DAY!!

Getting ORGANIZED...

Starting to get my NEW (well, thrifted new) desk into place!! I think I'll FINALLY have the space I need to create, without taking too much of my dining room space... more photos when I'm closer to being DONE!

ETA: the my dog, is a Fox Terrier/Rat Terrier mix! :)

Which means... 60% NOT normal...

You Are 40% Normal

While some of your behavior is quite normal...
Other things you do are downright strange
You've got a little of your freak going on
But you mostly keep your weirdness to yourself

Remember this? You might want to head over to Gutter Girlz today... All sorts of new things happening over there. The new prompt is up today.

Remember this?

It goes on sale today at noon central. Don't wait too long!! Kits on Tally Scrapper tend to sell out fast!! Don't forget, that you can purchase items at Tally, and save them as "tallylove" until you have more items to ship!! That makes Tally's cost of shipping and ONLY cost of shipping totally worth EVERY penny. Another plus about Tally's Shipping? The most you'll EVER pay for shipping is flat rate, and if your cost of shipping ends up being less than flat rate cost to ship? Your shipping charge gets reduced. Pretty nice. And ANOTHER awesome thing about Tally's shipping? You get your order in under a week. Fast and furious. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise! :)

November in Black and White

My friend Maya is hosting a November in B&W challenge, and mentioned that I should use my photo of Travis sewing! lol I was out taking photos for my new etsy shop banner the other day though, and thought that one of the photos I took at the playground might be better. If you have a sec, hop over to Maya's and check her out!

Here's some of the others who are playing along...
