If you have a link to my blog on your website, or blog, and it's my old blog address, will you update your link to http://minetothine.com? (take the blogspot out.) I will love you forever.

I have all the swap goodies in except for ONE box!! I'm really happy about that! I think everyone should be able to send them out as scheduled!!

True Love and Homegrown Tomatoes...

So you know that a photo shoot was gonna happen... and I have plans for more... :)
My favorite part... the first photo.

The construction guy saw my mom and I walking and taking photos... he yelled at me to take his photo too, so I said, SURE!! If you hold my tomato!! lol AND HE DID!!
I stopped the car to ask the fisherman for a photo...

I have plans to take a photo of it in Travis' hands while he's in uniform...

My mom and I holding the tomato
You can view all 54 photos in this set HERE. I recommend opening a new tab, so you can view them while listening to the set's namesake song...

'Twas a Bonnie Day, Talkin' Pirate Talk

If that's not a face to scare ye into bein' a pirate, I don' know what is... He puts the fear of Davy Jone's Locker in ye...

He's complete with knuckle tattoos... an' ya know, them be the worst kind to feel...

The ones on the arm ain't a walk on a clean deck neither.

Today, the young birthday boy, did decide that bein' a pirate was too dirty an affair, and instead ran about the ship in his underwear.
He did stop to take a photo with his best pirate scowl.

I, bein' the fearsome woman pirate that I am, went to the school an read to the young pirate boys an' lasses there. My riggin' was so good, I had TWO lil' ones ask if I be a REAL pirate. I told 'em I couldn't tell... or they might find me treasure, and I'd have to run 'em through.

Even had some concern about the scar runnin' from the tip 'o my nose ta me ear...
Had to tell 'em I put it there meself. (didn't tell 'em HOW)

Hope ye had an amazin' and fun National Talk Like a Pirate Day!! This Crew sure enough did.

Happy Birthday, Macs, Ya Scallywag!

I can't believe it's bee five years since those photos were taken!!

This is the FIRST picture of Macs as a FIVE year old!! He JUST woke up.
Today's National Talk like a Pirate Day, and Josh's school is celebrating that by dressing up, and talkin' like pirates! I'm going to read later to his class and a few others, and because we are a family who loves to dress up, there WILL be photos later!!

Period.

Yep. They will wreak HAVOC on you, I say!!
Havoc.
They kick you in your gut, and make you feel like drippy faucet...
and they make you MOODY and easily depressed.
So...
I plead the period.
And I'm doing fine.
REALLY.
I'm fine.
hee hee

I even brewed some coffee today!! FRIENDSHIP COFFEE for a very dear friend, who I have only been in the same state with once, for a total of three days. (or was it four?) At any rate, we are pretty much inseperable now, even if we are only attached at the phone line.
Seriously.
We are ATTACHED.
For about 2 hours a day.
And THAT's on a slow day.
Her name is Christi.
Most people on line know her as latte_grande.
Hence,
the COFFEE.
Which is also usually what I call her.
So I decided, since she is also the kind of friend who sends you half of a salt and pepper shaker set (keeping the other half with her, of course) and putting dirt with it, so that you can have a bit of her with you... (and she has a shaker with some dirt of mine too) I decided to brew her a very special pot of coffee.
I went to the thrift store, and found a vintage/retro coffee pot, and brought it home. After I thought about how I wanted to decorate it, I decided to use some of the beach THINGS I find when I'm walking the beach. Bull Whip Kelp, Blue Mussels and Barnacles.
I also added in some thrifted pearls and jewelry later...
At any rate, I brewed the pot of friendship coffee by writing out on the computer, all the things that I love about Christi and our friendship. I printed it all out on card stock, each thing on it's own line. Then I cut the paper and crumpled each piece of the list and put it into the coffee pot.
I'm going to keep a list on line, of other things that make me happy to have her as a friend, and eventually, I'll send her a fresh brew, to help her keep her pot of friendship coffee warm and fresh. If you have a friend who would like a pot of friendship coffee, you should make one!! If you blog about it, please let me know, and link to me here!! Thanks!!
I've been working on some things to go into my etsy shop... and I want to give away a set of my newest addition!!
I also listed some calendar tags that I LOVE...
Leave me a comment, to be entered to win a set of six calendar tags, a set of 10 card tags, and a set of Halloween tags!

Mish Mash

Lots of little things... so it's a mish mash post today...
I am feeling pretty lonely these days... found out that one of the Ex Friends subbed in Josh's class today. That just BITES. I honestly don't think I'd be able to be there as a volunteer if she subbed on a day I was there. I think I would have to walk out. I hate that. I hate that they have reduced me to a hermit, who avoids them at all costs. I hate that I look like a flake and an idiot to 99% of the people here, because I've quit doing so many things in order to NOT see them or be forced to pretend that we "just drifted apart". I hate that living in the same town as them means that I can only move on in my head, because every time I go anywhere that they are, I am brought face to face with how much they have hurt me, and all my wounds start bleeding again. I hate every corner they have me boxed into. I can't wait to leave this town. I recently saw a saying... "being lonely is when you slowly fade away, and no one notices." That's pretty much how I feel about living here these days. I've pretty much faded out of just about everything I ever did here, and I don't think many people have noticed. Thank GOD for Coffee, and Christine... I don't know what I would have done without them.

In other less depressing news...
The KIT at Tally is now available!! Here are a few things I've made with the kit!!

AND the prompt for GutterGirlz is up!! We also announced our newest guest designer!

The Olympics are over at Tally now too... and here are the last two pages I made for that! (not with the kit) First one, was to post a page using a sketch, and to use cotton balls and sewing on our page. No bright colors, and use one word (from a list of words) as our title, with at least 75 words worth of journaling.

Second one, to use shoes and dirt on a layout (it was a payback for a challenge I gave the other team with those things...) to use Fire, and cupcake liners!! (the liners are the flowers, and I burnt the edges)

Played with some self portraits... and a new haircut... My hair is so dark you can never SEE in photos...

Just 3 more days before items for the Fantasmagorique Swap should be shipped!!

BrioooHhhnnn

I have to say!! We had THE BEST time at Brian Regan's show!! He gave a little of the old, and a BUNCH of new, and his opening act was AWESOME!! Kermet Apio was his name. Macs fell asleep, but after the show said, "It was AWESOME seeing Brian on STAGE!" I wish I could have gotten a photo of he and Josh's faces when he came out on stage!! No surprises with content either as far as language we weren't expecting to hear. If he's EVER near you. Go. See. I insist.
The Hult Center was GREAT! The seats we had were good seats! I actually don't think that there looked to be any spots that wouldn't have been good!! I took a few shots while we were waiting... still not good at taking low lights without a flash... but I think they aren't TOO bad considering I was holding the camera, and trying NOT to show it, because I wasn't sure they were allowed.

Here's our view BEFORE the show... as you can see, we weren't too far from the stage!

After the show started, and there was no mention of no flash photos, and I saw OTHER flashes going off... I decided to take JUST A COUPLE of shots WITH the flash. :)

It was a night NONE of my kids will forget, and I'm SO happy that we did it.
I leave you with a little bit of Brian's Opening Act.... Kermet Apio!!
