It's ALIIIIIIIIVE

lol He had surgery today... The surgeon says that it went well. Good even. And yes, he's trying to fly a bird... on purpose... Even with all those meds, he's still as funny as ever. hee hee We are back home, and he is resting FINALLY. I think that he'll be OK this time as far as pain goes. I hope so anyway. He at least got some rest.

Just something I decided to start.

I've really enjoyed challenging myself this year, and since I've been on TallyScrapper.com, I've realized that challenging myself, and stretching has really been great for my scrapping. This new challenge blog was created with ALL challenges in mind!! Hope you like it, and maybe even JOIN US!!

I'm no Dr....

but I'm pretty sure it's broken good. Travis broke his wrist last night. Instead of X rays, I bring you STICK HAND!! This is basically what Travis' wrist looked like on the Xrays. This is a palm side view of his left hand. He dislocated it AND broke it.

Did you KNOW that they are still practicing medieval medicine!?! Totally are.
I had no idea until last night, when I KID YOU NOT, they put his fingers in Chinese finger traps hooked up to a rolling rack (like the kind that they hang IV's from, only this had five Chinese finger traps on it.) THEN they put his fingers in the traps, and hung a bunch of weighted bags from his ELBOW to pull that dislocated bone back into place. It worked, but SHEESH!!

How did he do this, you ask? Well, I'm so glad you did!! lol He was responding to an accident on the sand dunes here, and while he was assisting the Ambulance with the accident, he got a call to back up the city police officers at a known house. He didn't want them to be stuck without backup, and was hurrying back to his vehicle on an ATV. It was dark, and he went over a dune that did not have a backside. He launched himself and the ATV quite a ways, and straight into the water/sand below. He's really lucky that all he broke was his wrist. He's in a lot of pain still, because we have to wait to have it set. That's on Tuesday. Until then, he's on pain meds, and just trying to stay out of serious pain. Hopefully the swelling will go down and the pain will go with it. I'm just glad that he's not more seriously hurt.

Oh yeah. It's one of THOSE days...

Just some fun with blogthings.
I'm feeling pretty low these days. I just want to sleep. That's never good. I feel like my whole world is stuck, and I can't get myself out from under it. I'm like, NON functioning in most areas of my life. It probably doesn't help that I'm about ready to start my period. If we could move tomorrow, I would TOTALLY do it. I'm also fighting a headache, and that doesn't help my brain work when I feel like this. It's SOOOOO fun when three friends dump you when you needed them the most. They really do SUCK. If it wouldn't land me in jail, I'd SHOW them just how pissed I really am. NO ONE deserves what they gave me. NO ONE. Not even someone who KNOWS you are enemies. Did I mention they SUCK?

Onto the blog things.
This is probably the reason I love nose rings...

You're Not Exactly a Hippie...

While you're not a hippie, you've got the spirit of one.

Like most hippies, you have deep beliefs and unusual interests.

You may not buy into hippie fashions, music, or heavy drug use.

But at heart, you are a free spirit and suspicious of the status quo.

Funniest thing about this one, is that Oregano is my LEAST favorite spice.

You Are Oregano

You have are charming, funny, witty, and smart.

You love to party - and people love to party with you.

You are always friendly and warm. You are able to help people get along.

I knew this already.

You Are a Believer

You definitely believe in God - and you're very unwavering in your religious beliefs.

In fact, religion and spirituality are definitely big parts of your life.

Religion shapes how you view right and wrong, as well as the decisions you make.

It's hard for you to imagine how your life would be without your beliefs.

I guess I need to go shopping for new paint? Maybe flowers will do the trick. The Daffodils ARE blooming...

You Need Some Yellow in Your Life

Yellow will make you feel happy, perky, and hyper.

And with a little yellow, you will project an aura of energy.

If you want attention, you've got to get a little yellow in your life!

For extra punch: Combine yellow with blue or orange

The downside of yellow: People associate it with sickness and deceit

The consequences of more yellow in your life:

You will have more mental clarity, especially when faced with difficult problems

You will be protected from depression and moodiness

You will be a lot less likely to burn out or feel stressed

Yep. Kinda cool, because I think a crab apple tree is going in the backyard this year.

You Are An Apple Tree

You are quiet and shy at times, but you have lots of charm and appeal.

You are quite attractive: your pleasant attitude, flirtatious smile, and adventurous spirit draw people in.

Sensitive and loyal in love, you want to love and be loved.

You are a faithful and tender partner - who is generous in sharing your many talents.

You love children, and you need an affectionate partner.

Tagged....

So my friend Christine Spumoni (not REALLY her last name, but it's the one I can REMEMBER) tagged me. I think I can handle this one, so I'm playing along. AND since 7 is my lucky number, I thought I might have good luck if I played too.

SEVEN RANDOM THINGS ABOUT ME
  1. One of my favorite things about my Hubby (favorite superficial things) is that I can wear heels and he's STILL taller than me.
  2. I hated ANYTHING tomato when I was a kid.
  3. I've only had a green thumb for about 4 years. Up until the change, I could kill a cactus.
  4. I collect round vintage mirrors. They hang in my bathroom. Hubby says there's nothing like being able to watch yourself pee from EVERY angle. (didn't think about that when I started collecting! lol) I don't think he likes them much.
  5. I LOVE working outdoors with my man. It makes me happy when we get a DIY project done together.
  6. I was disappointed when my oldest son turned out to be a boy, but only for a second. Then I realized that I was NOT meant to be the mother of girls, and never wanted one again.
  7. I like spicy foods more than sweet ones. I've heard that you can buy a chocolate with chili powder in it, and I'm dying to find some to try.
So, I'm not going to name any names, but if you WANT to play, then you are tagged!! Please leave me a comment by clicking on Peeps Cheeped so I can visit your post and read YOUR 7 random things. They are harder to come up with than you would think!!

Novocain....

Macs had his first Novocain shot on Weds. and I had to take a droopy face pic. CRACKED ME UP.

Have you ever scrapped for someone you didn't really know? It's HARD!! Gotta say, I personally LOVE the way this one came out. Those babies are pretty stinking cute!!

I created this page a while back... a challenge from a fellow TallyScrapper to use flowers, NO sanding or doodling, and some other not niceness... lol actually not TOO tough a challenge, and it was fun to change things up a little! (although I think she had OTHER flowers in mind.)

Tough Decision...

I made a tough decision recently...
One of those ones you don't want to have to make.
One of those things you would like to find an extra two hours here and there to make time for.
BUT
Sometimes, there is not a REAL choice that makes you happy.
Some days, there is no good compromise.
Sometimes, you have to just stop.
That's what I had to do. I had to step down from my design team position on Scrapping the Music. It was a tough call, and one that I wish I had foreseen when Mary made the call to add more members. I didn't see it coming though, the time crunch that having that one extra thing would add. I didn't see the personal stress that was headed into my life, and when it hit, I just didn't have it in me to keep going. So I had to let something go. I had Tally, or STM. It was really not a question of which I would have to lose. I hope that my time and my creativity will come back to a force that allows me to play with Mary and the girls soon! I love her concept, and the idea to take a song and put your emotions from it onto paper. I think it's brilliant. Please visit the girls on STM, and try a challenge out for yourself!! They have a GREAT song going right now! You can find a link to the blog here on my blog, under Challenge Yourself! in my sidebar.

Twisted Pioneer...

SuperBowl Sunday, I brought the goods to make THE BEST Bacon Wrapped Jalapeño "thingys" for a treat. I got the recipe from Ree, on her blog The Pioneer Woman Cooks. They are DELICIOUS. I wasn't the only one who thought so. BUT I ended up with left over peppers and cream cheese. *gasp* no BACON... and being the lazy resourceful woman I am, I decided to think out side the grocery store. Here is my take on Ree's Recipe.

I used Crumbled Bacon from Hormel! Really! That's ALL I changed. I followed Ree to a tee, but instead of wrapping the bacon, I mixed bacon into the cream cheese. Hormel's REAL bacon is real bacon, shredded, and fully cooked. So no worries there.

I just folded it into the cream cheese...

and followed Ree's Recipe the rest of the way!!

I did broil for a TAD too long, but I can assure you, that the flavor was NOT compromised!! They were YUMMY!!!

What did I ever do to YOU!?

My photo for day 36!
My friend Tracy has tagged me for a bucket list. Five things you want to do before you die, based on the movie The Bucket List. Dirty Farmgirl... I'm not sure WHAT I did to her, but she plays dirty. I wonder if it had ANYTHING to do with my comment about MUDnure... Hmmmm... At any rate... I think I will play along so as not to upset the Blogging Gods.
1. Travel Across the USA in a motor vehicle.
2. Give my children the chance at the childhood I was lucky enough to have...
3. Create.
4. Visit another country.
5. Be the CRAZY gramma. You know, the one all the kids like because she's JUST enough off to be fun, even though she's wrinkly.
Maybe not TOO super exciting to you, but really, I love my life, and I live the way I believe is true and good, so I think these things are achievable! NOW I tag....
Karen
Shirley
Christine
Leah
Christi
and anyone else that wants to think about how to live it up before they KICK the BUCKET!

In other news.... Margaret, this one's for YOU!!

Pregnant Mommas and Pink Piggies

THIS is how I got to spend my SuperBowl Sunday!! Well, I did taxes too... (thanks, Mom W!) But this part of the day was MUCH more fun. A photo shoot with baby buns baking, and big sisters waiting with kisses on the outside.

I think this is one of my favorites.

And the PIGGIES!!! She let me play with an idea I've had since a shoot I did in December. When I taught toddler class, we used to paint with our feet a lot, and I had the idea that painty feet would make a good shot...

I think this one is one of my favorites.
