First of all, I HAVE to give props to the GENIUS that made this cake!! While on my search for a great cake photo, I found this gal, from THE PINK CAKE BOX on flickr! Her work is STUNNING. Too bad she's all the way in New Jersey!!
Second of all, IT'S TALLYSCRAPPER.COM'S FIRST BIRTHDAY!!! Can you BELIEVE that they have been here for a YEAR!?!? I can't. SO amazing. We are partying this weekend, and a little into the week, so HOP OVER!! Even when it's NOT our birthday, there is a lot going on!! PLUS, we got a makeover, and the site's look is ALL NEW!!

Rachel,
ReplyDeleteYou can make one of these. You are very talented. It's not that hard. Here is a link to one that I made in September for my mother-in-laws birthday brunch.

You buy the fondant in a box at Michaels. It has to be rolled out about 1/8" thinckness. Colors are mixed as you go. The trick is to make sure that you ice the cake first and that you get it as smooth as possible. If you do that, laying the fondant over the cake is really a breeze.
I spent ten hours on my cake, but I was flying by the seat of my pants and learning as I went along. I'm making another one for a dinner party on April 12th and feel much more confidant this time.
I'd love to see you make one. I know you can do it.
Hugs,
Cookie
