Week 30 Deck of ME

THIS
was the prompt from emily this week... count your blessings. Good prompt! I'm not really happy with my card. I think I want to do it over.

Pay it Forward....

My MOM has a post on her blog, who got the post from THIS blog who got the post from THIS blog... well. You get the idea. Here's how it works.
I will send a handmade gift to the first 3 people who leave a comment on my blog requesting to join this PIF exchange. I don’t know what that gift will be yet and you may not receive it tomorrow or next week… LOL… but you will receive it within 365 days, that is my promise! The only thing you have to do in return is pay it forward by making the same promise on your blog. Be sure to leave a link to your blog so that I can check to see that you've posted!
C'mon, guys! I can't wait to see who plays with me!

Yes, Jen. I know.

You Are Pinot Gris

More hip than most, you spot trends before they even really get started.
If something is new and unique, you know about it... and you've probably tried it.
You have a good number of projects, interests, and relationships - but they are all fleeting.
The world is so appealing and diverse, you can't help but seek variety.

Deep down you are: A true flirt

Your partying style: Exclusive. You only party with people you've personally selected.

Your company is enjoyed best with: A big bowl of pasta
What Kind of Wine Are You?

It's been a while since I posted. FOUR days. You hate that. So I'm posting today! I've been busy HERE at TallyScrapper.com AND I just posted something HERE at my Art and Ideas for Kids blog. So... I hope you have a great day! I'm off to a birthday lunch for a friend, and I think it's gonna be FUN!

The Witching Hour

Myself and My Wizarding Son ready to meet the Hogwarts Express. Found the CUTEST vintage dress and jacket for this. I love them! The hat was just matchy and un matchey enough to go with the outfit in a Wizardy sort of way. We went to a local midnight reading, and here are a few of the characters that we met!

Mad Eye Moody

Professor Trelauney (not sure I spelled her name right) She read her Tea Leaves and told me I was in GRAVE DANGER... hee hee

A potted Mandrake. Thank goodness it didn't SCREAM! lol
We got to listen to some of the first parts of the book about 20 min. before the book was passed out at midnight! I stayed up until 5:00 in the morning reading, and then got up and finished the book by 2:30 in the afternoon! I loved it. Twists and turns right up to the very end!

Week 29 Deck of ME

I was finished with the LAST of the Harry Potter books by 2:30 in the afternoon on Sunday! It's SO GOOD! In case you are worried, there are no spoilers for the 7th book in this post. My journaling is Spoiler FREE!

I guess you don't have to be a rocket scientist to see that I'm a HUGE Harry Potter fan. Not as bad as some, I'm sure, but in my opinion, JK Rowling's books are perfection! So I took a rather un-motherly approach to my Deck of ME cards from Emily Falconbridge's BLOG and did a little bit about her and Harry. I have been saving some Harry Potter Playing Cards for a few YEARS now, and I finally got to use the shields from the fronts of them on my card! lol They are glued onto a picture taken out of the 7th and FINAL book, of the LAST PAGE. (that's the #759) THANKS, Emily! You really know how to come up with some GREAT prompts!

Harry Potter....

FINALLY! I got to see the movie. It's so good. Of course, there are lots of things that had to be cut, due to time... But I loved it. EVERYTHING was just as I have it in my head! You know how witnesses give a description to a police sketch artist, and they tell them when they have the sketch right? That's how I felt. It was like I told the director how to sketch it all, and it came to life. The fight scene in the Dept. of Mysteries was AMAZING! I loved it. So neat. I cried like a baby. Mostly because I am WAY attached to Harry, in the books, and I know what's coming for him, so EVERY TIME he hugs Sirius, or sees him mum and dad... it's just HEART WRENCHING for me. I get teased by the BOYS in my house. But it's worth it.
Ian and I are going to the midnight book release tonight, and we are dressing up for it. I have THE COOLEST costume. Think the Wizard's when they dress in muggle clothes in the movies. A classy Mrs. Weasley. THE BEST. Ian even found a really cool coat that looks like a school robe. LOVE IT! Look for the pics here on the old blog!

Week 28 Deck of ME

So I've discovered a new use for the chipboard circles from scenic route! I love love love them, and today I realized that I can alos cut out the tiny "sample" circles that come with the packaging! The prompt from Emily was GOAL OF THE WEEK. I took a photo of my dirty dishes. My goal this week is to FLY...

TWELVE

How can you look at that little thing and not be in awe? So pretty. I love it.

I managed to get some BEAUTIFUL pictures of my flowers today... This one is a Tigridia that I planted this spring. This one is the first bloom I've ever gotten off of it. It reminds me of an Orchid. It's amazing.

These are Tree Mallow that I planted. The butterflies that are native to this area love them. Lay their eggs on them. I can't wait. This particular bush blooms in the white of the top flower, and then as it ages, the blooms turn pink. These pictures are from the same plant.

Here's where that 12 comes in. I collect Daylillies. I have about 5 species of them, and this one is my latest addition. I LOVE the green in the center of it. I've been wanting this breed for a while now. I have one that I am waiting to see. I took starts from some plants at the McDonald's where we used to live, and I'm not sure if both the species survived. If it did, I will have one with this green on the petals, and a purple stripe down the center. Today, I went "shopping" in my town. Shopping for Dalylillies that I don't have. When I saw them in a yard, I asked the owners if I could take a start. EVERY SINGLE PERSON said yes. Soooooo as of this afternoon, I officially have (I think) TWELVE DIFFERENT SPECIES of Daylillies. I am one happy girl! Can't wait to see them in bloom.

Week 27 Deck of ME

Here is week 27 of the Deck of ME challenge by Emily Falconbridge. There was a guest prompter, Ali Edwards, because Emily was busy having a baby! lol The prompt was, JUNK MAIL. Ali used Junk Mail to embellish her card, but I used my junk mail to show what KINDS of junk mail we get. I thought it would be fun to document.

So Random

I've been TAGGED by my TallyFriend Shirley, to post 8 random facts about myself. So here goes...

  1. I will put cleaning off all day long, and stay up until 1:00 in the morning working. I'm THAT much of a night owl.
  2. I have taught toddlers how to use sign language before they are able to talk.
  3. I miss those toddlers, but I LOVE not working.
  4. My favorite color is also on my walls. Who says you can't have an orange living room?
  5. I wear my PJ's to the grocery store, and we aren't talking "could pass for regular clothes" PJ's.
  6. If INSIDE my house could be a yard, it would be clean, trimmed, swept, watered, and beautiful.
  7. I smuggle candy into the movies, but only red vines, because if I get caught, I hope they won't be able to TELL.
  8. I wish I had learned to play the guitar.
If you are reading this, and want to be tagged, then YOU'RE IT!
Otherwise,
Shanna and Jen C this one's for YOU!

My best bargain EVER...

I just had to share. I think it was scrapping worthy. I got the BEST bargain EVER the other day. I love stores that tell you how much you SHOULD HAVE spent! lol It's really kind of funny, because in all TRUTH
they
over
charge.
A LOT.
But this particular store, is a discount store. They sell things at REAL bargains ALL the time. But when THEY put your savings, they calculate what you WOULD HAVE spent
at
the
Regular
PRICE.
Kind of funny.
BUT
By my estimations, they owe me about 26 dollars.
That's right folks! I spent $102.00 and SAVED $128.00 and some change.
Now if I could only convince my
HUSBAND
that I am actually MAKING money by spending it...
