Moving some things around.... Seed Cups

I have too many blogs! I decided to take some of my favorite posts from my garden blog, and move them here.

Here is a step by step guide to making your own biodegradable seed cups. First, gather up some Newspapers, and tear them length wise down the middle so that they are single page thick, and the same size as a newspaper unfolded once.
After you have torn your paper, fold it lengthwise in half. Now your paper should be two papers thick.

Take your folded paper, and soak it in water. I use warm water, because it's more comfortable to have my hands in for long periods of time. Then, using a clean glass jar for your mold, lay an end of your paper along half of your jar, allowing the other half to hang over the end of the jar, and start to roll. I have the folded side of my paper along the center of the jar so that my cup edge is tidy.

When you have wrapped your paper until you cannot anymore, turn your jar upside down so that the excess ends are on top. Fold once.
Turn and fold two more times until all ends are tucked and smooshed onto the bottom of the jar. Now GENTLY twist and pull your cup off of your jar.
Place your cups in a planting tray to dry. When the cups are dry, place your soil and seeds as you would any other planting cup. When your seeds are ready to plant, simply place the whole cup into the ground. The paper will become soil, and your plant will not have to withstand the stress of being taken out of a pot to be put in your garden. Your wallet will also have a little extra money for buying those extra seed
